I don’t get it…I tried to update to 0.6 under ubuntu.
Downloaded the whole source, then did the following:
git checkout a298006
Before compiling the miner, but it’s still producing 0.4 binaries…

To fetch the latest xolominer code…

git clone https://github.com/thbaumbach/primecoin.git which creates a local clone of the repo, all fresh and up to date :slight_smile:

Then follow build instructions for your platform in doc folder. e.g [tt]doc/build-unix.md[/tt]

and if there’s a new revision posted, just …

git pull

and build again :slight_smile:

Gonna have to try again, but I still had the 0.4 moniker show up when starting the miner. :confused:

I don’t get it…did that, got the up to date source.
Then compiled and am still getting 0.4 and not 0.6…I used a flag to target initial lenghts of 7 (that should eliminate 6 chains, right?) as a quick fix. But still, I wanna fix this properly asap.
Ubuntu 13.04 amd64, fx8320, compiled from source using native flags, but didn’t switch head to the latest commit this time. (didn’t make any difference last time)

No matter what I do I’ll get:

[WORKER0] Hello, World!
[WORKER0] GoGoGo!
connecting to 5.45.100.191:1337
system:10013
PrimecoinMiner started
connection to 5.45.100.191:1337

connection to 5.45.100.191:1337
system:10013
connection to 5.45.100.191:1337

It won’t do anything else than that.

@d0ssis:
what “username” are you using? can you post the whole command, please.
otherwise: try port 443, 8080 or 13337

@ivanlabrie:
try this…

git clone https://bitbucket.org/thbaumbach/primecoin-hp pcdtest cd pcdtest/src make -f makefile.unix <wait-to-compile> ./primeminer -poolip=beeeeer.org -poolport=1337 ... etc. pp. = your miner start command

Thanks xolo, will do and report back…

Hi all, total noob here. I’m using the windows version of xolokram’s miner v0.6 RC1, and am up and mining just fine, but I have a question. Does this miner do any kind of logging? I’m mostly just curious, but I’m guessing there is some useful information that isn’t logged at http://www.beeeeer.org/user/my_wallet

Thanks! 8)

update: on windows 8.1, I found the temp files in %appdata%/roaming/primecoin

Thanks ivanlabrie

Hit control+c after a few hours to see your stats…I do that and calculate the share values to add up what I got that day.

@Xolo: I tried compiling like you posted but I still get the 0.4 thingie up top.

Screenie:

@ivanlabrie:
can you post the exact command you are using to start your miner here (you can remove the primecoin address if you want)
the “./” in my instruction is important, otherwise the command will use a miner you’ve probably copied into your system bin folder(s)

@updog:
the most important (and in the near future all possible) stats are on the user stats pages. it’s just not 100% ready yet. we have some important issues to take care of, more information is in the main thread. the appdata folder has nothing to do with the miner, the miner doesnt save any data on your pc.

i have some important (non-pool-related) stuff to do. i’ll be back later today.

Thanks, you’re baws man! Fixed it…I forgot I had copied the last miner to usr/bin. Rookie mistake, told ya.

Okay, I want to write down some thoughts (issues?) with the payout system since october 12th (CPPSRB).

I started mining on 13th, thats 3 full days now. Payouts started today, 17th on 4th day due to two reasons:

  • xolo being busy with the payout scripts
  • blocks need 2.5 days to mature

The first one is really OK, and I thank xolo for his time and energy put into this.

But let’s talk about the 2nd point. Blocks mature 2.5 days and due to the CPPSRB system only most recent shares are going to be paid out.
Let’s have a look at my wallet: http://beeeeer.org/user/ATmbcd5QYqeYbhx7pBE7CGecVXKXVtig7M

I can see my most recent shares are going to be paid and added to my balance, that’s totally OK. But the older shares - they will never be paid out, isn’t it? It’s around 10 XPM I was mining during the time the CPPSRB pool was starting up and now the first blocks maturing are used to pay out the most recent shares.

Isnt that quite unfair? I could also just have waited 3 days, save a lot of energy and started mining today knowing shares will be paid from now on as the first blocks matured.

Or did I misunderstood something? Are all shares being paid off?

nope, that’s not correct, your “old” shares will be paid out. read about CPPSRB. e.g. at www.eligius.st

Ok thanks for clarification. I will shut up now :-X

qh, at the current exchange rate, 10 XPM is worth about $6.70… is it really worth getting so worked up about what wont even buy me 2 beers at my local pub? Anyway, Xolo has said you will get your $6.70 just like I’ll get back paid for my earlier shares! :wink: Let the man do his job and not be distracted answering “I’m going to get ripped off $6.70” posts.

Okay let me get this straight: I’m not complaining, I’m just bored & unpatient & have no other hobbies, so I try to figure out how this stuff works. My LTC rig is working so stable that I have plenty of time putting energy into XPM.

I’m a software developer and trying to find issues or problems is kinda my job. I’m not doing that to complain or point at someone, rather doing that to improve it, help this community and contribute! For example people were asking for real time statistics and I digged through the C++ code to add such feature to primeminer 0.6-RC2.

Xolo, excuse me, I never wanted to rant or complain. I’m just curious and unpatient but trying to contribute. Really!

I’m cool. No problem.

Hello!

I have a strange problem. I cannot access the stats page on my main PC (win7 64bit). it lets me to see the stats like once a day without problems, all the other tries it just stays on infinite “loading” loop (on the browser end). I have tried different browsers, cleared cookies and cache, no effect. i can’t access my own stats (http://beeeeer.org/user/ATmbcd5QYqeYbhx7pBE7CGecVXKXVtig7M) or anyone elses. on the strange part, if i remove like, the last two letters from my adress, it opens stats page for that just fine. or if i try, say, http://beeeeer.org/user/whyisthisnotworking, for example, that loads just fine also.

i can also access my stats from my android tablet just fine. they are on the same wlan if that matters…

any ideas?

ps. nice pool you have xolo, keep up the good work!

-Auto

i can access your page without any problems ???

me too, from my tablet, like i wrote, and on top of that, from my other pc’s (few laptops and few mining rigs)
the problem only occurs on my main pc… and nothing apart from reboot seems to help… and, all other pages work just fine and load without problems… and i just noticed, when i can’t access my stats from this computer, i also can’t access anyones stat page, but all “not real” (like http://beeeeer.org/user/ARrwvMGjxvrM1NX) still work even when the real stat pages won’t load :S

i know the problem is on my end, just thought im going to ask here, since i haven’t figured out the cause myself :smiley:

all my computers are behind the same router, so shouldn’t be that either…
