Yes just set avatar=1 in the config. but make sure to use the latest peerunity (v1.2 or above). Older version had a bug such that all your change is lost like the transaction fee ! https://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=3520

Hey,
So in sunnykings weekly update he mentions that avatar mode feature introduced by him on peercoin for exactly the reasons you describe in how you use your addresses will stop the change being sent to a different wallet.
He does mention this is in develop and testing so use at own risk or more important to report any issues experienced with it.
