Mining with block erupt ors and a raspberry pi

Hi so I have a raspberry pi and 12 block eruptors which are mining bitcoins at the moment but I wanted to try alt currencies. The rasperry pi has minepeon installed and running cgminer. I changed my mining details to stratum.d7.lt:3333 gravitate.1 12345 but the block eruptors do not start mining. Is there anyone who can help please?

What USB hub are you using? I’ve read that the RPi has problems with USB 3.0 hubs, not sure if that might be causing your issue.

The distro you’re running can also be a problem. A few people who couldn’t get USB miners running on Raspbian managed to get them going on Arch.

Here’s a link to the latest distros for the RPi

http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads

I’m busy moving house at the moment, but if I get a chance over the weekend I’ll play around with my RPi and Erupters and if I get them going I’ll post a guide up here.

Hope you get yours working before that!

OK cheers! Like I said I have got it mining now on bit coin. I am using a D links with 5 eruptors in each. All working and mining ok. Just cant get them to mine ppcoin :frowning:

maybe you need to add tcp+stratum// in front of the url?

I will try

By the way, this is in the Primecoin (XPM) section and not the PPCoin section

I’m also doing this! Ill make an update thread when I receive my equipment (y)

mining on pies you need to iver have usb 3 on them or a configuration to work with usb 3 and from what i know its a nightmare to configure and run tis lot simpler to just get a pi with usb 3 on it or to use computer for them

I’m up and minting on Minepeon, using cgminer with 5 erupters and a BFL Jalapeno.

Didn’t have to tweak anything except the pool I was pointing at.

Currently using Coinotron.

Dlink-7 port usb 2.0 hub

@gravitate did you ever get your minepeon working for PeerCoin?

Second this, if a tutorial can be provided would be nice!

i just use raspbian and download cgminer from https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/RPi_Raspbian

than just cd to the directory , chmod +x cgminer-3.6.6a, ./cgminer -u user -p pas -o poolurl:1234

Sorry being a newbie in PPC. Any setting changes for mining PPC based on the RPi_Raspbian?

no i dont think so, what do you mean? just run it ./cgminer -u username.miner -p minerpass -o pooladdress:portnumber

I’m currently using MinePeon with BFL 60SC for BTC mining. Can I assume all I need to change to PPC mining is the pool connection settings?

yes correct just change the pool ur miner is pointing at to a PPC one and everything works the same.

could some one help me pls?

i too is experimenting raspi + usb erupter. it looks like it hasn’t done anything at all after running for 3 hrs. some of the debug logs:

is this working at all? using ppc.fixx.ru. “cgminer -o stratum+tcp://ppc.fixx.ru:3333 -u username.1 -p 1 --usb 1:7”

Did you ever figure this out? trying to do the same, all looks to be good except I don’t see my miner and I’m not mining

Im new the the game so please correct me if needed.

I have a RasPI running minepeon 0.2.5, a DLINK USB Hub ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00008VFAF/?tag=stackoverfl08-20 ) and a Red Fury USB ASIC Bitcoin Miner 2.2-2.7GH/Sec By BITFURY

I’ve added my pool https://ppcoin.d7.lt/ and things looked good except nothing is mining.

The miner states it’s running but the device id is 0 and 0 hashrate.

I’ve tried to start the miner manually https://ppcoin.d7.lt/getting-started

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.d7.lt:3333 -u miner.1 -p 99999

it starts up but states the USB hub is busy, I see it testing the Red Fury but after that it still is not mining.

Am I missing something?
