What happens if I disable “Enforce checkpoints” in the settings of version 0.6.1?

Nothing much that you would notice. Checkpoints are like a safety net whereby you check your record of the blockchain with a central record. In v0.6 this feature is optional. If you aren’t having issues syncing, you can feel free to turn it off.

No, txns have change addresses sometimes. That has nothing to do with checkpoints.
