Noob question here.

I started mining yesterday and have noticed that I have a lot of pending shares. Why do some shares get stuck in pending while others are moved to paid very quickly? Will I ever get the pending shares? I have also noticed that the higher value shares are always the ones stuck in pending.

Thanks

Hi Xolo,

First of all THANK YOU for maintaining this pool!, I been mining here since the early days and so far I’ve never had a problem with the miner before but recently it has started to crash too frequently on a pool of machines that I have, the last lines I’m getting form the output are these:

All the machines are running debian (wheezy and squeeze but I dunno if it only happens on a particular version).

what do u think?

this looks like it has some connection problems with the server
the next message in the log should be the answer of the server regarding your share

mh, i’m aware of the problems (unstability) with the old network code of the xpm primeminer
i should merge the improvements i’ve added to the ptsminer/network code into the primeminer code

i hope you’re running the miner in a loop to restart it on failure? <-- really useful!

i’m sorry for the inconvenience, the improved network code will appear in the next version

Hi Everyone,

i am new to mining in general and have mined primecoin at beeeeer.org for about 3 days straight.
I am using a cryptsy address for mining.
Since i started i have not seen any coins transferred into my cryptsy account.
How can i verify how many coins i have crunched to date? I am aware of the 3.xx XPM minimum.

regards

So I have been running xolo’s v8 linux miner on my server for the last week or so. However, for some reason I find that every 10-16 hours the core will dump and the miner needs to be reset. I am running ubuntu server 12.04 lts on a dual opteron system. Was just wondering if anyone has had experience with the linux miner being unstable?

Yes. Have it on a few legacy dual xeon systems–relatively new to XPM myself, but not mining. It seems to vary, but sometimes it appears to happen as often as every 4-6 hours.

I always have a message similar to this right before it will get a core dump:

Probable prime chain found for block=bdcbc839e99d04cc3cf1e708d7ec19aa6f3ff890b0e96409c62624a84664b78d!!
Target: 09.f7d6c9
Chain: TWN07.851055
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Yep thats pretty much what my error looks like when it happens. Curious if this is a bug or some configuration that can be changed.

@moork:
have you reached the payout barrier?
if you use services like cryptsys for the payout addres there can be some problems
but that’s cryptsy’s business as i dont have any influence on their deposit system

Hi Xolo,

is there an relatively easy way to confirm how close i am to the payout barrier?

I have seen the payout page but it is difficult for me to figure it out.
Do i have go into every payout block and search for my payout address, then add the listed amounts together to see how close i am to the payout barrier?

I hoped there was something like an per payout address link to click on to show the total etc.

Please enlighten me.

Also i cant tell if the payout works by using a cryptsy address because i haven’t been paid yet, i assume.

Maybe you could tell me how close i am ?

regards

All you need to do is go to the most recent payout block and search for your deposit address. The value given at the top of the page is your current balance. The second value your address will be registered to is the estimated amount earned for the next payout block, and the third is an estimate of your balance for the next payout.

go to http://www.beeeeer.org/user/yourpaymentaddress

this page will show ur current balance, paid shares and pending shares.

hope this helps

Thank you trying to help.

for example:

Payout block:727

at the top the following information is displayed:
“time”: 1384716301,
“reward”: 12.472236513,
“reward_spent”: 9.214753230083176,
“txfee”: -0.04,
“cppsrb_blocks”: [

my payout address was shown 3 times

  1. prev
    “AdEbT6dxQ9Xz31q16NB8woCq6DMXEzEx7h”: 1.8423607730967424
  2. add
    “AdEbT6dxQ9Xz31q16NB8woCq6DMXEzEx7h”: 0.0028031696003561514
  3. next
    “AdEbT6dxQ9Xz31q16NB8woCq6DMXEzEx7h”: 1.8451639426970985

so if i add “prev” and “add” it gives me the current amount of prime coin mined ?
And “next” is an estimate for the next block?

Ok got it! Thanks!

Learn how to cloud mine XPM (amazing profits) w/ the beeeeer.org pool:

I’m still a little too new to XPM to make any judgement calls on that. I know that yesterday it seemed like I got quite a few while mining on the pool (multiple machines, multiple locations, all core dumping within ~3-4 hours tops). Since restarting, no issues at all and it has been over 12 hours. I’m not sure if it is related to pool mining or just mining in general as I haven’t ran solo for any extensive period of time yet.

I am looking for help mining protoshares on beeeeer.org on a mac. I am a complete mac noob and am wondering if anyone would be able to explain to me how to start the miner and edit the config.

Thanks

there are several information about compiling the miner on mac in this thread on the first post of the official announcement (other thread) and on other threads.

the

-problem

is caused by the (bad) network code and unstable connections or smaller downtime / restart by the server.

Thanks for clearing that up xolo–it didn’t seem to have any rhyme/reason so that makes sense. I notice I haven’t had any issues for about 24 hours now.

Hey guys, I started mining and am getting ~2k p/s with primeminer (pic) http://i.imgur.com/jrxXQKv.png
From what I’ve read, that seems pretty good. Thing is, I’m not really getting any XPM (pic) http://i.imgur.com/PdQJrWT.png
Beeeer is getting me like 0.05 every 12 hours. Isn’t this awful for 2k p/s?

Also to note, I tried mining with the Primecoin Wallet, and get ~600 p/s there (pic) http://i.imgur.com/cACUVW9.png

Does anyone have any suggestions please? Shouldn’t I be getting like at least a few XPM here?
