Our simulation results demonstrate thatour protocols can significantly reduce the block propagationlatency and suppress the stale-block rate. Specifically, ourprotocols can increase the TPS of the Bitcoin blockchainby 100x without compromising the blockchain’s security.More importantly, our approach only needs to rework thecommunication and networking architecture of the currentBitcoin blockchain without changing the data structuresand crypto-functional components in them. Therefore, ourprotocols can be seamlessly incorporated into the existingBitcoin blockchain. The implementation of our protocols inBitcoin-like blockchains may allow the blockchains to beused in many use cases not possible currently.
