Primecoin wallet not synchronizing

My Primecoin client can’t find any block source, although my PC is mining fine.

I have collected a bunch of nodes’ addresses in the primecoin.conf file, but to no avail.

I simply don’t understand why it doesn’t work (it used to).

Any suggestions please?

Nemo,

  • no problem sychronizing with my wallet, client version: v0.1.2xpm-hp14-beta
  • 8 active connections to the Primecoin network, as usual
  • had me worried there for a bit

Same here, tested 3 days ago. Synced all the way through.
Check you internet connection or firewall, likely something is blocking it.

It seems to be random.
I noticed that the smaller the blockchain is, the bigger is the chance to “catch” some node.
Bizarre…

Where are you supposed to add nodes in the compiled Primecoin wallet on Mac. There’s a network tab but no place to add nodes.

in the config file, primecoin.conf, you have to create it in the datadir ~/Library/Application Support/Primecoin/primecoin.conf

Afternoon… is there anyway to speed up the wallet sync? I started off 216 weeks behind and, five days later, I am 211 weeks behind. At the rate of a week per day the wallet will take months to sync with the network. For another wallet I was able to download some files and replace the existing ones within the wallet: blocks, chain-something and bootstrap is that possible here?

Thanks for that, I couldn’t find it anywhere. It will still take a while to sync but at least I can run it offline…

I know this is an old thread that I’m reviving but is there any way to make the wallet sync faster?

I left it overnight and still 214 weeks behind, connected to 11 nodes. I added some of those ip’s in the thread to console.

EDIT: got the bootstrap.dat, thanks for that. Now where to put it? Appdata/primecoin/ folder ? i’ll give it a go hopefully will sync quicker.

LE2: Still very slow… tried running primecoin-qt -dbcache=16000 but nothing happens, client still uses 270MB on ram, guess that’s the problem, any way to speed up or make it use more ram? This will take months

such junk of a software, my computer crashed with 50weeks remaining to sync and now the shit wont load at all, have to restart from 270 weeks, fucking bullshit bye bye my 400$ shouldve never sent to this junk in the 1st place, don’t use this pos software or ull cry hard

Finally got it synced, used the hp client and went much quicker then the normal one. Cheers
