Do you think we could find enough people who would be interested in donating a small amount of money to pool together funds so we can give 1 PPC bounties to anyone who tweets support for a PPC/USD pairing to the official Mt.Gox twitter account (@MtGox)? We could set limits, and require that they register on the boards here so they can provide info for us.
I’m not sure how we could mitigate potential abuses, but I imagine that we could figure something out.
Actually, two Chinese exchange: btcchina and okcoin has already overtaken Mt.Gox in terms of trade volume.

Even though they have a higher volume, is it as beneficial for us to have a USD/PPC pairing on those exchanges? I figure it would be eventually, but do they have enough customers in the exchange that would care, or would they rather have EUR/PPC or CNY/PPC pairings?
If there are enough people interested on those exchanges, then by all means, let’s figure out a way to get them interested, too!
I’ve been working on campaigns with Gox since Feather in April. As soon as they publish Midas is ready, that be the perfect time to make a coordinated sweep.
Just signal when it’s time to swarm. The colony is ready for duty. ;D
Coinbase does not offer ltc in their services because of mt. gox and bitstamp…it is a big deal regardless of volume numbers.
Gox doesn’t know it yet, but they are losing ground as far as being a major exchange.
Less popular exchanges are eating their lunch for them (like btc-e.com)
At some point GOX, in order to re-establish themselves in the market, will automatically start adding coins like LTC, PPC, or whatever, just to keep their marketshare of trades.
The market cap of Peercoin will automatically force GOX to consider putting PPC on their roster without people having to plead and beg.
If I had to pick one over the other:
Peercoin has a greater chance of surviving in the long term than GOX does.

Just a data point, now might be the time to push them. Someone pointed out to me today that Gox has the API feed mockup set for NMC and LTC (no data but a placeholder), but I see nothing for Peercoin or other coins.

My first reaction is that “wow! Gox is about to do something soon”
This is exactly what people thought when Gox announced that USD wire transfers would be “coming soon” and they spent 3 months waiting for them.
Gox is unreliable, everyone knows it.
It is just as easy to add Peercoin to that API as any other coin. The LTC holders are non-stop spamming the trollbox on btc-e about how Mt.Gox will release LTC soon.
China has already picked up, not only LTC, but PPC already.
If GOX carries LTC but not PPC, don’t worry. Every one is fed up with GOX by now already. Their reputation is ruined. Let them be FINCEN compliant on a decentralized currency. It won’t be long before they return to Magic Card trading.
Heavy investors will not care whether or not some beta version of their API carries PPC before anything is released. If MTGOX wants to carry PPC (and they would be silly not to), it’s only 1 day of integration to add it, completely trivial and simple. BTC-e already showed that to us…

A good plan is to watch the price of LTC and NMC if mtgox implements them. Observe if the prices go up. If they don’t add in PPC, then it would be a great buying opportunity because PPC may follow the same path. I would personally buy more PPC if this happens.

EDIT - I believe btc-e will surpass Mt.Gox in the USD market.
