Peercoin on Raspberry Pi

Hello, here it is my PI working!

I don’t know if there is still any tip left, hope that is! : )
Cheers from São Paulo, Brazil

I tried with 9901 and 9902 but still 8 connections. Any idea/help ? ???

It sometimes takes a few hours to get more connections. Maybe leave it for a while.

Are you eligible if you have a server that is always running? Or does it have to be a RasberryPi?

For now these Tips are only for Raspberry Pi based Peercoin nodes, but thanks for your interest. If you get a R-Pi be sure to stop back on by
Well I’ve got port forwarding setup correctly now and according to GRC SheildsUp port 9901 is open and I can use telnet to test it from a report (out side my house) machine, but after three days of waiting i still only have 8 connections.

Is there anything else I need to do before I can get more connections?
Stuartma and c275,
I hope your nodes start making more connections but after waiting three days by stuartma that sounds like too much waiting to me. This is the first we have had this problem on this tipping thread. I note that both of your implementations are Peerbox so perhaps Peerchemist can weigh in here? Could it be some rare bug interaction with your routers? Or, just for some problem with your specific routers alone? What routers are you both using?

Peerchemist can you give any feedback here?

Anyway, I am personally a bit technically clueless, but I don’t want either of you to be left behind for any reason, so I am bumping your requests and hopefully someone can help you get more connections!

Yes, RR, there are still tips left. Congratulations, to you for helping Spread Peercoin on Pi!

Sending much admiration and applause to all Peercoiners in the great country of Brazil!

Stuartma seems to be using Peerbox but c275 is using something with GUI.

Looking back Stuartma did not post any info about the problem and seems to left the thread, Stuartma if you see this please send me message.

Ok guys, after 3 days for set up the pi and 1 night waiting for 8+ connections, i leave.
Tnx for the help, bye!

Ciao

Woohoo! Got my Pi set up with 9 connections

Super Congratulations! and Welcome! ;D

Congratulations to RR and parsonage. Your tips are ready to collect from peer4commit.

I’m waiting for a PM reply from mhps with an email address or peer4commit identifier so I can send the tip. If you would prefer not to set up a peer4commit account, let me know and I can set up a dummy account and just send the tip to your PPC address. Edit: Tip sent.

By the way, we have now reached over 40 new Raspberry Pi nodes!

It would be cool to have a way to identify those new Peerbox nodes when scanning the network. An idea anyone?

I’ve noticed that a lot of the older Peerbox node infos in this thread say the version is “v0.4.0ppc-3-glf058b6-beta”, while some of the ones updated to the newer release of Peerbox say “v0.4.0ppc-4-g5ace24f-beta”. I’m not really sure what these numbers mean but would it be possible for Peerbox to have its own easily identifiable version name, in the same way Peerunity does? Then it would be easy to see on the network maps.

I have thought of this this morning when I saw mably’s post.

Those numbers are exact version of build, it could be tweaked to show that it belongs to Peerbox.
I have to think about it, that may not be great idea.

P.S.

River I’m currently working on something that will help this project, you will like it.

Got the tip!

Could you tell us a bit more about it or is it too early?
