Peerbox.me redesign

In this thread I will post sketches of new design for Peerbox.me

I hope you will find the site pleasing, and please comment and propose changes.

So, this is first:

Not too bad, but not worth $250. Edit: Sorry I didn’t understand it was the very first release and the dev was still in process.

I like it as being clear and good to read. The banner is also nice. The sidebar menu should move when scrolling I think, especially on the home page as that can be quite long, I suspect.
And I like a few more colors to emphasize headers etc. but that just me.

Have to admit that I’m not really in what a competitive price is for a website as shown, so I can’t say much about that.

The background displayed on the front page looks a bit Aztec (it looks good, but is not really relavant, I think we can do better). Maybe we could find something that is more related to technology/ecology/RaspberryPi.

So far the rest looks really nice, I like the font and colors used and the Peerbox logo at the bottom.

I agree about the picture. I wanted some visual representation of p2p network, you know like nodes and stuff.
However this web designer is not so skilled with photoshop and maybe he lacked the inspiration but his work did not look so nice so we have took this picture.

Maybe after it is finished we can get someone to make nice p2p network animation or just a nice picture.

I posted this in chat…

Peerchemist, I think an improvement would be removing the the green leaf cube on the left side and just making the Peerbox text larger. There is already a leaf cube as the "o" in the word. Having it twice so close together makes it a little redundant. I think just enlarging the text and removing the left one will probably look much better.

Also, maybe bring the large green cube at the bottom of the page up some so it doesn’t get cut in half.

You can also try working with my designer, the one who made the Peerbox logo. Maybe he can make you up a good replacement. Just show him what the existing website looks like, tell him how large the banner needs to be and what you want it to look like. His email is openlightning@gmail.com. I believe he made the NuBits Twitter banner here: https://twitter.com/OfficialNuBits

peerchemist, what happened with the design?

it is still in progress, don’t worry, have patience (a little bit)

I think it looks promising, but concur about the Aztec art and bottom cube (might just need tweaking). Thought about the page when I saw Excoin’s Twitter avatar. :stuck_out_tongue:

Looking great! When will it be hosted?

I will get blog implementation (from other party) on Monday. Then I just need to write those texts. With my limited time it could take a week but I will try do to it ASAP.

If you have time, feel free to submit merge requests  Basically those sample texts on index.html need to be replaced by Peerbox related stuff like “Dedicated, secure-by-design Operating System for secure minting and running Peercoin nodes.” etc…

I like it. It’s minimalistic and 100% my taste.
