A lot of them I don’t like, but I am liking 4B. Making the “o” into a cube is pretty clever and the way the cube is positioned makes it align perfectly with the “x” to the right of it. Any opinions or feedback?
1b minus the yellow is great
Yes, if 1B used the same colors as the cube in 4B, then I’d like that too. I don’t really care for the yellow tint.
I’m having my designer make up a version on a dark background with a larger version of the cube symbol over top of the 4B text logo, similar to all the logos in the links I provided earlier in the thread. I’ll post it when it’s done.
Ok, here are all of them, two text only versions with a black and white background and two vertical versions with the symbol over top of the text logo, black and white. I hope you guys like these, including Peerchemist…
This work is really good, very simple yet good and matched with other Peer* logos.
It looks and feels better than my designer came up with, but it is fair to wait for round two and give them both some time to finish up/fix their best contenders?
I think my designer is done unless people want me to give him more suggestions. If it was picked, then I’d ask him for the entire package, similar to what I’ve done with the other logos.
It is fair to give your designer some more time to improve though and we should wait and see what other people think as well. Like I said before though, I think it’s ultimately your decision.
Having the cube appear above the word, and also appear as the O in Peerbox, seems redundant to me. I really like the design. I propose to use the word by itself as the logo, but the cube by itself when an icon (think MS Word) is needed.
I also mentioned in chat that if people start manufacturing and selling professional looking minting devices that already have Peerbox loaded onto it, they can just include the green cube symbol if there is not enough room to fit the entire word.
I like Sentinelrv’s 2a after moving the symbol to the o of “box”, like those in 4.
The reason I don’t like 4b is because the box is really a cube, not a box. A box has the meaning that it has interesting things IN it. A cub feels monolithic even with a leaf painted on the surface. The box-with-a-leaf-in-it symbol in 2a is very good.
Another way to add Peercoin theme in Peerbox is simply substituting the P with the Gold Peercoin logo.
The flat box in peerchemist’s 2nd batch of designs has merit, too. How about modifying 1a this way: remove the black diamond on the right. Move the green box symbol to the o of “Box” – let the box’s left corner become the “<” in B and right corner become “>” in x, use the circle in the symbol to show the o. Let’s see how it looks like.
So far we’ve had about 6 people voice their approval of my design in this thread and a couple more in chat only. Because of this, I’m letting you guys know that I’m not having my designer do anything else unless it’s absolutely necessary. I already have about an hour and 40 minutes of design time clocked in and I still have to have the entire package made up if mine is chosen in the end. I’m trying to save up some spending money for my vacation early next month, so that’s another reason. If Peerchemist wants to pay his designer to make more though, then that’s up to him.
mhps, I think having an actual box that you can put stuff in is clever, however I find the actual design ugly. Another problem with it is that the side of the box covers up part of the leaf. I don’t see a problem with the cube. We could just say it’s an unopened box.
I would ask the designer for a stylized version which is suitable for engraving or similar (it would look a little different but I’m confident its doable). Might come in handy someday.
