Kevin[/quote]Welcome! So much to learn, but we are happy to help.

Hey Im jhoshua, I started mining xpm a while back and ive had some good luck with it. Im currently mining on my company server and my home pc. If you need any basic help, let me know.

Trying to post some information and ask question to get the most out of CPU miners.
Hello Everyone!

Hey guys, my name is Christian, I’m from NY. Just purchased myself 6.5 Primecoins. Hoping for the best with this coin!

I have a duel core 32-bit HP laptop that I use to run the mining…no luck as of yet, I think its due to fact that my computer BLOWS. This is my getmininginfo running at 100% cpu:

{
“blocks” : 286410,
“currentblocksize” : 1000,
“currentblocktx” : 0,
“errors” : “”,
“generate” : true,
“genproclimit” : -1,
“primespersec” : 45,
“chainsperday” : 0.00387376,
“pooledtx” : 2,
“testnet” : false
}

Doesn’t look very good…hopefully when I get a new laptop I can do more

Hi all  I’m new to this too - started today mining Primecoins at beeeeer  I have a question - I’m mining with ~1500 primes per second with my Athlon II x4 2.8Ghz and wanted to ask u is it worth it? I see that I get ~0.7 chains per day ( don’t even know what that means) and was wondering how much in electricity will cost me to run my PC lets say 24/7?
Here is my configuration:
CPU: Athlon II x4 640 (2.8ghz)
VGA: Nvidia 9800GT 1GB
RAM: 8GB A-data 1600
HDD: 500GB Hitachi
and i have 600w PSU

And here is a screenshot -
Am I running the program fine?

Hello, nice to see this comunnity growing…i am from Brazil and want to help spread PPC here. Nice to meet you all, hope i can start the first threads on the Brazilian board to bring more users.

Hello, it’s my first post here, I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from you

Hey, I’m DLxpm. I’m very excited about the principals behind Primecoin and looking forward to putting my nice-CPU/awful-GPU desktop to work.

Hi All

sorry, this is a kind of crosspost,

I wrote this in the peercoin section, but it belongs more to primecoin:

I’am from switzerland and I mined and bought some bitcoin back in 2011.

Now I’am more intrested in primecoin, because its cpu only and to finde some chains also makes scientifically sens. In the moment I mine at ypool.net: I’am impressed with the neat and clean Web-Interface. (being an web pro myself)

umlt

Semi-crosspost from the peercoin section too. I missed the BTC train before it skyrocketed in price. Now hopping on the ground floor with Peer and Prime. Hoping it works out.

Hi everybody. I’m a PhD student in physics and have been following and investing in crypto for a while now, starting with bitcoin.

I thinks its wonderful that new trading platforms are becoming available with a markets denominated in XPM. I think that is going to do things for this coin, which I knew for quite some time was a good coin in its usability alone.

To me a good coin;s value is self evident. Primecoin is perhaps the finest example of an innovative coin that presents value that is unique from BTC and LTC. Right now I am a 4 coin man - BTC LTC PPC and XPM baby. But I’m not here to bolster a coin or pick sides. I think cryptocurrency as a discovery is extraordinarily significant for humanity. And XPM? XPM is even more fantastic because, obviously, the prime number research!

It is so clever and interesting for a payment system that operates under the premises of modern cryptography to meanwhile research the field of prime numbers, which are central to number theory! In fact, it took me quite some time to fully appreciate how great of a thing that is. Go XPM. Prime numbers have been and will remain one of the greatest challenges in mathematics. As much mathematics as I have studied in my life, I will forever be in awe of the primes and how they have illusively presented themselves to mankind since the very first proof of their infiniteude by (Euclid?). Prime numbers may continue to escape a final, true understanding we seek and may forever do so. But we can always try!

I’m a fan of all things crypto currency, but primecoin is one of my favorite coins because it is extremely well planned and serves a purpose beyond itself. It’s unique and I am here to help. I only mentioned my many coined-ness because I will not be able to dedicate too much time. Still got that PhD to get too… But I’m here to help because I believe in XPM! great work devs.

  1. I did not even realize ppc and xpm are affiliated. Makes sense though. I was drawn to both coins for a reason I guess.

  2. I am looking for QT wallets for each to run in ubuntu. I got them working fine on windows.

  3. I noticed a typographical error in the PPC wallet (not XPM). When you go to encrypt wallet, the warning message reads “YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR BITCOINS” rather that “PEERCOINS.”

Bitcoiner here. I come from a place where no man uses normal machines to mine. I have no clue of the difficulty in xpm mining. Worth doing with cpu’s? GPU only?

New here. So many questions.

heyoo

new to xpm, new to crypto coins. looking to learn, possibly earn. first time playing around with VMs. Noticed that buying into or paying out of currencies is much harder in certain regions. be interested to know how people organise their finances, ie assets coming in/going out, and how people calculate cost/benefit of different VMs.

chrrrrs

Hi all,

I’m Gloin-e, an electronic version of the dwarf appeared in LoTR. I love the idea and design of primecoin and believe that it can be widely used in the future. Very new to the scene, but hopefully can catch up fast and do something

Hey everyone. I’m a big fan of Primecoin. Also a technologically illiterate roofer but I someone manage.

;D

Hello everybody,

I’ve head about Cryptocoin (Bitcoin) somewhere in the middle of 2011, when it was introduced in a computer journal. Now I like to hunt for some primecoins.

Hi i am Very Excited about PrimeCoin a Love Mathematics and the concept of Mining Infinity(i know that the prime numbers required are not supposed to be too Long But its kind of like that) is Super Cool

these are a Couple of really Newbee Questions for you

  1. How do i start a new post in the PrimeCoin Mining forum …i have check Help…it says this
Go to the board where you wish to post and click on the New Topic button (positioned by default at both the top and the bottom of the board)

however i can not see a New Topic option anywere

2.i have tried to upload a Avatar i keep getting this massage
