Weekly Update #138

Weekly Update #138

[ul][li]diandianbi.org has kindly set up another dns seed for peercoin at seed.diandianbi.org[/li]
[li]We have made some adjustment to peercoin’s release plans. The support for peermessage will be joined with some protocol adjustment to enhance peercoin’s network security, which will then be bundled into a release v0.5.0. The current develop branch will become v0.6.[/li][/ul]

Have fun!

i happy

The consistency of the weekly update from sunny king might seem something small but it really should be commended.

Busy times in peercoin, have fun all

Does this mean that the intermediate release v0.4.1, referred to in Weekly Update #131, will not now be necessary/happening?

I was thinking that, the other day.

<3 them weekly updates

v0.4.1 was originally supposed to be a non-mandatory update to help support Peermessage, but the protocol security enhancements now make it a mandatory update, so the version number was changed from v0.4.1 to v0.5. The main changes we’ve been waiting for like cold-locked minting should be in v0.6. Hopefully that won’t take until next year though. I’m guessing we’ll see both v0.5 and v0.6 this year, but I don’t know for sure.

Where can I read more about the “protocol security enhancements”?

They haven’t been released yet. I think Sunny will probably post something for review when he is ready.

Hey presstab, did you get my PM about that famous timedrift attack?
