I am stuck on the error; “WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers of the issue”.
I am using the latest wallet from here; http://builds.peercointalk.org/ I have also tried the wallet listed on the website, I have the correct formatted .conf file, I have waited hours for the wallet to sync but all to no avail…

is the client actually connected to nodes?
This warning will display while the blockchain is downloading and not yet up to date, so chances are you just needed to leave the client running for 30 mins or so depending on your internet speed while the 300 MB blockchain downloads. Note you would see similar in Dogecoin while syncing your 4GB+ blockchain and yes that would be many hours syncing that!
