Thank you very much for your answer

There has been some talk that if an address has been inactive for some set period of time that the XPM left in that account be paid out to that address, but I do not know if Xolo has any intention of implementing that, or if so when.

i need only some day or less of time then i will resume the mining :slight_smile: i think there should be a limit of time like some month but i could be wrong.

As I recall a month was what was suggested.

I just started mining XPM on beeeeer, and need some clarification/help. I am running 6 cpu’s across 2 server boxes and 2 desktops all set to payout to the same wallet. I only have the wallet client on 1 PC. When i brought the 2nd server box online i did not see a boost in my xpm/h, and that got me thinking i am doing something wrong. Do i need the wallet on every computer, and do i need to set payouts to that wallet?

yep, it’s still on the list, it’s just that there are other things to do first.
but yes, there will be some changes to the payout system providing more flexibility in the future.

@JimmyJohn:
mining is highly depending on luck, i don’t know your exact stats/submitted shares, but you should take this into consideration.
(but on average the xpm/h should rise yes)

you don’t need the wallet on all computers, the only thing you should check is the configuration of the miner, it should be the same for all machines (regarding your payout address).

The variance (luck) in mining cannot be stressed enough. For example I have 7 identical PCs, same hardware and OS and miner invocation, and as of this moment one has found 3 share in the last hour and another has not found one for 22 hours, with the others scattered in between. Tomorrow morning the results will be vastly different, with the now 22 hour PC possibly the one hour one. Any given PC may find a single share (or possibly none) or a dozen or more per day. A statistical analysis of the results shows a random distribution. One could easily add PCs and see an immediate drop in shares found, due to the random nature of share finding. On average over time you would see an increase in shares found, but not necessarily in the short term. By adding PCs you increase the probability of finding more shares, not necessarily the reality of actually finding more.

wrong thread ::slight_smile: sorry. brb

Awesome thanks for the help, and i did see a slight boost over the last day.

hi new and have to post a few time.
hi, I am trying to set up the miner-all appeared to work except the last bit which gave:
[regi1377@localhost ~]$ screen ./primeminer -poolip=54.200.248.75 -poolport=1337 -pooluser=AdUUsfQj8LWeUhDtoUVApZbhqDSfR3bQ1Y -poolpassword=iwziztquugve -genproclimit=1
bash: screen: command not found
[regi1377@localhost ~]$
I am no geek and have no idea what to do I enabled the droplet to run when executing this command but??? any ideas
I am using a basic linux os please do not ask what version-i have no idea or how to find out?

I believe you have to be in the directory where the primeminer is before you run the command.

This is Linux. There is no exe.
http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=798.0 check this thread for installation guide on linux.
What is this “screen” command you are using before “./primeminer” ?
Try without it.

I ran it all in the same terminal from the download instructions. here is the whole thing including mistakes:

would a help for percoin be valid for prime coin? are they not different??

i looked at the thread for linux- I am completely out of my depth unless anyone is willing and able to help with teamviewer I will have to give up!.

Reinstall the OS and do the exact that was done in the tutorial in the thread above.

I second this. You might also want to learn bit more (and more about) Linux and Bash before mining on the cloud. This might come in handy: http://linuxcommand.org/learning_the_shell.php.

Also, here’s one of the most popular (and most complete) “get started on mining Primecoin in the cloud” tutorials. It’s really easy to follow and well formatted: http://www.davidedicillo.com/developing/how-to-mine-primecoin-xpm-on-the-cloud/

I suggested this because I too got messy the first time I was trying to install primeminer on my Linux cloud server.
And nothing fixed the problem except reinstalling the system (hopefully on the service that I was using the reinstalling was done with just one click on a button) and following the exact steps from the tutorial in this forum. The others tutorial did not solve it.

???. I guess you misunderstood me; I said “I second this” which means I agree with you.

thanks for the links-unfortunately my first command in the second link gave"command not found" and my reading of the first link indicates i am in the wrong directory. i am not a programmer and i do not know how to find directories and how to manage them to run the login sequence? i will try to find somewhere i can get step by step info.
