Repeatable crash with v0.6.1 on xubuntu 14.04.3 LTS

Hi folks,

I have the following recurring problem with the v0.6.1 binary on xubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. I can try to help more if necessary, but I’m pretty much a fish out of water with debugging and had to dig deep into my own brain to remember how to get this much.

xubuntu_14.04.3_LTS_peercoin-qt_v0.6.1_gdb_bt.txt (1.3 KB)

Have you tried compiling from source?
14.04. isn’t that fresh, maybe the packaged binary is not meant to support it.

I have just a bit ago (couple hours) compiled from source on FreeBSD (an update to v0.6.1 of a previously-posted port for v0.5.4, coming soon via another thread) and that seems to be working OK so far, so perhaps this is localized to Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. Once my FreeBSD port build is finished on a couple more FreeNAS jails then I’ll get around to trying a source build on Ubuntu 14.04.3… or, since that’s just a ESXi VM doing nothing else, I may just kill it and build a new VM with 16.04 LTS and try the v0.6.1 binary on there.

Thanks for the prompt reply!

can you provide some more info about the configuration and the debug.log file?

BTW: this could help tracing the error: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2902064/how-to-track-down-a-double-free-or-corruption-error-in-c-with-gdb
