Things are looking good for getting Peermessage up on the Peercoin network here soon. There are a lot of things we want to get the community involved in in the next few weeks regarding it - but first things first.
What should we name this project?
PeerMessage was it’s original name. Since then, it’s grown into a data-application infrastructure (that I’ve tentatively been calling Peerapps), with two modules built on it so far (which I’ve called Peermessage and Peerblogs).
What are your thoughts? I don’t want to monopolize a general name like “Peerapps”, but perhaps that’d be the best name for the project as a whole. Open to anything.
I particularly like PeerHub. I would consider using that name, even though someone else already has it. In our case, the things that would be marketed would be the apps built on PeerHub (like PeerMessage), and PeerHub would be more for developers.
I really like both PeerSpark and PeerHub. I’d favor PeerSpark, I think. However, it must have that capital ‘S’ so that it doesn’t become Peers Park! :))
Emeth, I believe you’ve already chosen the perfect name with Peerapps. The name is logical and obvious sounding. I can’t say the same for the other suggestions that have been made here. I would have no idea what Peerspark means. Peerhub sounds better, but the name Peerapps just makes sense. It’s self explanatory, apps built on top of Peercoin. Another great thing about it is that in case a logo were to be made for it like our other core products, the name itself would be able to accommodate our trademark leaf symbol inside of the letter a, similar to our Peershares text logo.
So my vote is for sticking with Peerapps. The name is simple, obvious and self explanatory. Everyone knows what apps are. We want a product name that is easy to understand and this is it. I hope you all agree with my reasoning here.

I like Peerhub but if it is another brand already why fight? and it kinda like github so makes me think source control related or something… so i agree with sent’s statement, keep peerapps, makes most logical sense and fits with branding… unless u wanna take a leaf out of doge marketing and call it KittenPuppy&AllThingsFluffy?
Peerspark is pretty cool, and I also liked the first suggestion of Peerwheel.
When it comes right down to it though, I’m going to defer to Sentinel’s expertise in this area. Peerapps it is. I just bought peerapps.org (thanks Sent for the heads up!), and when the time comes will point it at something on peercoin.net / peercointalk.org.
