Peercoin on Raspberry Pi

I think thatā€™s fair. If the person is legitimate it shouldnā€™t be a problem to write their username and the time down as part of the image. I actually thought of that when I was submitting mine and wished I did it even though it wasnā€™t a requirement :yum:

This isnā€™t exactly a small reward so people can do that tiny bit of extra work for it!

Hi der-abarth, your node looks good. Can you post your peer4commit identifier please and Iā€™ll send your reward.

I hope this is good enough. My first time with pi and linux here:

Peer4Commit ID: mqS17a9UPZdD

Thank you!
Up to now, my long hours of research indicates that peercoin is still the safe haven. Although lacking volume that drives the price, but it serves the purpose of safe haven for emergency money. I think the off-chain, worldwide infrastructure is next to build.

Hi gotqn, thanks for setting it up. Can you post a photo of your pi with your username and the current date visible in the photo please?

Sure. It is even now synchronized:

Is this ok?

@gotqn yes thatā€™s perfect, Iā€™ve sent your reward.

@der-abarth I notice you edited your post to add your PPC address. I can only send the reward to a peer4commit account, not to an address. If you create an account you can add your PPC address and let me know your identifier.

@river, thank you. I can confirm the transaction.

Ok so there have been 16 new nodes in the past month. It was good to get new people involved who were attracted by the price rise. But since the price seems to be staying high-ish I think it might be a good time to lower the reward back to 10 PPC to keep the existing funds lasting a little longer?

Hi @zhangfangwei, Iā€™ve sent your 20 PPC reward since you were active on the forum before I posted about changing the reward amount.

From now on the reward is 10 PPC.

Thatā€™s a kind of sad. I have told few colleges about this and setting a node is nice because in our country a raspberry 3 is about 40 dollars - getting the reward we can say its free. Basically you need need to buy only the charger, the SSD card and the box(if you like). And getting 20 peer coins is nice because you can leave them to be minted and even buy some more. 10 peer coins looks less attractive in my opinion and less chance to invest. More bad is there can be people who just set-up the node to get some funds and then use the raspberry for something else. My 2 cents only.

Iā€™d prefer not to lower the reward either, especially since people might have ordered a pi before the change. I think the reward needs to be relatively high to make it worthwhile as seen by the fact that there was only one node every couple of weeks or so when the reward was low.

We are using donated funds though so unless there is a commitment from someone to donate more then thereā€™s not much choice.
