Peercoin Myths

I’d recommend we keep a running list of Peercoin myths and then create an FAQ based around these fallacies. As a community, I believe it’s important that we address our critics in a consistent manner. To address this in the FTC community, I created videos here:

http://www.feathercoinmyths.com

I recommend we start by listing EVERY objection we come across in this thread.

  1. Peercoin offers no useful technical advancement from Bitcoin.
  2. Peercoin is designed to allow the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor

3. PPCoin has checkpoints, unlike Bitcoin.

to start answering them:

  1. PPCoin addresses the power consumption of Bitcoin’s system, with introducing PoS, to secure the network without the need for unlimited petahashes.
  2. Not true, see http://www.ppcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152.msg4987#msg4987
  3. Bitcoin also has checkpoints still, and just like with Bitcoin, PPCoin’s checkpoints will be removed eventually.

It’s not a myth, it’s true … you said so yourself.

you know what i mean (ive edited my post)

We could create a FAQ and a myth section on Nox’s new Peercoin wiki at www.peercoin.net and just send people to learn the truth. Videos can help also.

Agreed!
