After the debut of the book called Cryptocurrency “The Alt-ernative” A Beginner’s Reference, I have decided to embark on a few new projects. One of these projects is a book primarily based on Peercoin. My objective is to write about Peercoin in an introductory and historical setting. Here is the cover:

As is evident from the title, this book will cover one year of Peercoin (from Aug 2012 to Aug 2013).

Please could the Peercoin development team and community share their ideas as regards what could be included. At the moment, I have many ideas myself. Would it be possible to include the original Peercoin Paper in the book?

love the sound and look of this, would be happy to try help out with content on this as been round for 3 years… man it been that long! but good times  will see if I can post some info etc or feel free to ask for ideas, info, questions etc

I’m sure the veterans have some good old (and juicy?) stories to share. Just put my name down for an e-copy 8)

I think the chatbox here and some of the threads on bitcointalk are a great source of information on the early days.
Have been looking around in those old threads a few months ago and my first PMs here at Peercointalk. It has been quite a journey and it still is. Feel free to ask me questions in the thread or PM, although my history with Peercoin is only just over 1 years old.

Thank you FuzzyBear

Please can someone say if it is fine to include the original PPC Whitepaper in the book.

yes it fine to include original whitepaper in book, its publicly available and is the start of peercoin so yes go for it!

Within one week, I have collated a lot of information about Peercoin in 2012. I see clearly that you were involved straight from the beginning

Please could someone find out when v0.2.0 of the client was released in August 2012.

Thank you

Who in the Peercoin community is looking forward to this book in July/August this year?

It will include as much history as possible from the early beginnings upto the summer of 2015. Month-on-month price analysis, major players of the community who helped development and much more.

Definitely looking forward to the book!

I already bought a German book about Altcoins. (http://www.amazon.de/Handbuch-digitalen-W%C3%A4hrungen-Kryptow%C3%A4hrungen-%C3%9Cberblick/dp/3981601734/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1422989188&sr=8-1&keywords=Handbuch+der+digitalen+W%C3%A4hrungen)

I am also considering buying your “The Alt-ernative” book. Reason I chose the other one first is that it is written in German, which makes it easier for me to introduce Altcoins to friends&family.

I’m really looking forward to the release!

So much has been accomplished in Peercoin’s limited history. It will be interesting to see it encapsulated into one book.

Thank you very much from both of you. I devote almost all my free time towards research and writing. It’s great to read encouraging comments.

From August 2012 to December 2012, is Bitcointalk the predominant source of history for Peercoin? Please could the community help find other sources of history which detail this peroid.

Bitcointalk does supply me with sufficient information, but it is always nice to find more.

history of Peercoin is interesting, such as when ppcoin staking were exploited in the early days and how Sunny responded

Some news:

I have written the pages from August 2012 to the end of February 2013. I am well ahead of schedule

Is this the original PPCoin logo?

They also thought about changing it for that one (hahaha):

(looks like a plate of salad to me)

A gold plate with salad on it lol - dinner at an expensive restaurant.

Thank you
