Hey guys, have been running a node for a couple months now (one of the last rpi incentive recipients) and at the start I had upto 20 connections, but a month now, since the recent crypto crash before bitcoin cash came in, I had been stuck at 8.
And yes its not a technical issue, all settings are fine, and I can connect to myself using the android wallet from an external connection, so I know it’s not me, just seems to be a lot less active clients out there.
Anyone notice the same with their own nodes?
You are likely having port forwarding issues.

Nagalim as mentioned I don’t have port forwarding issues, I already ruled that out as mentioned above.
It would be extremely coincidental for you to have exactly 8 connections at all times without having port forwarding issues.
I have 38, for reference.
You could try adding more nodes to your config file, like this:

Cool, what does that do? Would that make my node more visible for other connections?
As mentioned I did test connecting to my node using phone data through the android wallet and it I can connect to myself, which in turn increases my connections to 9.
My location could be a factor. Last time I checked (month ago) I was the only active node in Sydney.
