[NEW] Donate Peercoins - Peercoin.Link

Hi Guys,

Peercoin.link was set up a few days ago, and basically it’s a service for donating to non-profits and other useful services in Peercoins. It indexes known addresses for Peercoin-supporting non-profits and we have included additional new addresses for those that don’t support Peercoin. Once the balance on these addresses goes above 0.05PPC, we send it off to the organisations.

Please check it out and comment if you want to add new sites (please provide official Peercoin address if it exists). Ideas for features are also encouraged.

Thanks

I wouldn’t call 3% a small fee for something which basically just transfers funds from one address to another.
I think you will need to be more transparent in your fees.
I’m also interested on how you are transferring the coins. Have you made bots or is it all manually operated?

Hi, there are only fees for the addresses that we need to operate because there is no known address of an organisation (please contact me if you find an official address). For example, peercoin.net’s official peercoin address is on our site wheras Wikimedia Foundation does not have a peercoin address, so we created one and will convert the peercoins into a currency that Wikimedia Foundation accept when we send donations to them.

For the addresses we control, no, there is no automation at the moment, as we want to avoid hacking and other things that can go wrong with technology. However, this is currently being developed, we just don’t really want to include it until we’re completely sure users donations are safe.

And about fees, I did think 3% was a bit high, so it’s now 1%. Unfortunately we do have costs, so I can’t really make it 0 until we have some significant donations coming in.

Thank you for your questions!

I think it’s harmful to the crypto-economy (in the case of fiat-conversions) and Peercoin (in the case of converting back to Bitcoin) if you collect digital currency just to convert it back to help organizations and other entities. Rather try to convert the organization to create a Peercoin wallet by joining us with a honeypot that is waiting for them at the listed address would be an approach that servers everyone imho ;D
