What information do you want to see when you mint your coins?
I presume you want to know the odds of finding a coin right? But is there something else that you would like to know? Perhaps how many nodes are connected? Maybe the hottest topics on r/Peercoin?
If you have any suggestion, please help me create a nice interface by posting minting features here.
List so far (updated as more tips are posted here):
difficulty charts
number of coins existing
coin age
odds of minting
number of nodes connected to client
something that shows the realtime blocks pow/pos are found
it is nice to see the PoS difficulty chart, maybe even something that shows the realtime blocks pow/pos are found, like a small blockchain.info , and if you want to visualize them you could scale the size to the amount of transactions or something
(ps, i dont understand how PoS difficulty works, only know there is one because the chart was on TheSeven’s pool webstats page)
Could you show the probability percentage of getting a block in 1 day, 1 week, month and 90 days? People would like to estimate how long he probably mint a block.
Maybe not a link to the hottest topics on r/peercoin but a link to the minting FAQ on peercoin.net or the top 10 threads about minting on peercointalk.org. And a link to the feel good video about the energy efficient way it is to run the network. Always good to say to people that they made the right choice for the right reasons after they bought or invested into a product (source: sales for dummies).
are we talking about the interface in the Peercoin client here?? as I would be reluctant to link to weburls as they can change or sites can be down, idk but i like to keep my wallet clients seperate from my web browsing… but maybe that just me, I think there are some pockets of information that need to be consolidated and if anything I would be more inclined to link to the Peercoin wiki as opposed to the forum, or just put the relevant text in on the client as opposed to a link.

We are talking Peerunity I guess, a Peercoin client 8) Any links shouldn’t be hard coded. Either configurable in the client or in the config file so people can edit it with a bit of instruction. And yes, I would definitely like to see a link to the wiki.
Thanks for the replies so far. I’m consolidating the information in the first post. My hope is that it will serve as a good source for people who are going to create interfaces.
I’m myself working on something here. I won’t reveal what it is that I’ve in mind just yet, because it might turn out that I don’t have enough time to complete the project. Time will tell, but the tips here are good so please keep them coming and even if I don’t have time to complete my project, it might come in handy for other people.
By the way… this :pearcoin: pear-thing thing. Is the pear our official mascot?
