Mining Primecoin.. ASIC... CPU? GPU?

How are people mining prime coin now days.

I think mining Peercoun is only possible (in economical terms) with specialized ASICs.
Do the math; with 1 TH/s hashing power you can earn roughly 6 PPC per day (with current difficulty of approx. 270 million).
These 6 PPC are worth more.or less 4 USD.
You need a mining device that consumes less than 4 USD electricity per TH/s per day if you want to mine at knives edge (investment not included!).

The question is for Primecoin

Primecoin is still mined and takes the top5 mining revenue share.
AFAIK, no asic (yet) and this is very difficult to pool-mine (excellent for decentralization)
so mainly gpu mined.

yeah, I should read more carefully what the question really is about…
Do you know of a working GPU miner for Primecoin besides this one http://www.primegpu.com/ ?

The Claymore seems to be a decent one -Russian ppl are using it, it appears

So GPU mining eh… hummmmmm I was CPU mining it for awhile there.

An ASIC would have to be designed for XPM mining specifically eh?

Do any other coins have the same… hashing algorightm? Not entierly sure how the primecoin mining works, I know BTC is SHA, Lite is scrypt and there are a bunch others X11 for example. Primecoin works via finding primes so an ASIC would have to be created for the purpose correct?

Open source GPU miner fastest at this moment:

Datacoin (DTC), but this coin possibly dead.

Anyone still mining?

I’m

Is that beeeer site back? It had everything needed to get started and mine. Thinking about using my old computer to mine just for fun.
