We got the following information.

  1. LTC asic miner is around 5~6m per blade with 100w power consumption.
  2. No preorder and supply from stock.
  3. Price unknown. Probably available next week.
  4. Will continue to make depends on market demand.

Thoughts?

It’ll be really interesting to see how the LTC market reacts. I think it’ll make the price go up short term and then trail off as people realize that LTC is no longer functionally different than Bitcoin. We’ll also see a bunch more scrypt-n, jane, etc. altcoins to pick up the GPU slack. I also think LTC altcoins (such as Dogecoin) will just disintegrate into nothing (just like most SHA256 alts).

KNCminer and Zeusminer also have scrypt ASICs in the works if anyone is interested in them.

There are quite a few coming in Q3/4 of this year.
Smaller companies like FlowerTech and Alpha have already sold out of their preorders.
They were extremely cheap, so I’m kind of worried about how they’d effect scrypt mining.
Difficulty is going to soar and I think we’re going to have a similar result to what ASICS brought to BTC mining.
