No, it is too early. Distribution of Peercoins is still marginal and a different way to distribute instead of through buying on exchanges can still be useful for many.
Changing the PoW protocol to that of Primecoin’s is certainly an intriguing idea. Would be less wasteful and still retaining the Primecoin legacy when no further developments are being made.
