Hello. Just joined the community and looking forward to learning more about PPC.

Hi there!
I am a newbie in this fantastic world of crypto currencies and I am eager to learn a lot of new stuff!! Hope I can aquire a lot of knowledge from here

Greetings, everyone.

Name’s Konstantin. I am studying different cryptocurrencies, and naturally couldn’t miss Peercoin/Primecoin.

Thanks.

Good evening,
This was great mining potential. Question, how do I unlock my account? I was mining a few days ago and mined a few blocks in Ecoining Peercoin pool, but then was logged out and have not been able to get back in since. I have not received an email to correct this, I was hoping to get some assistance her to correct this.

Sincerely,
alobodys

My realworld name is Dan and I’m looking at a few cryptocurrencies for a few things. I am in th UK.
Amongst other things, I have some bitcoin mining going especially while there is sun on the solar panels.

Hi All,

I’ve been peeking in and out of these forums for a while but have never participated, so I just signed up.

I have a question about minting that I was hoping someone could clarify… I have about eight address, all with either of the purple, green, or red assigned colors. Would it behoove me to consolidate some of the smaller addresses into one larger address (amount of coins)? Is there a maximum (7k or 10K) amount of coins that will increase my chances of minting? If consolidation is recommended, could someone please assist me? … and pretend it’s your father when explaining as I’m more of an artist then a computer wizard.

Peace-
RockRock

Hi [member=32618]azuabotlas[/member], feel free to join the ppcd project team, we have a few ppc to distribute

Hi all,

Pretty new to cryptocurrencies but wanting to get to know more about them, especially proof-of-methods, like Peercoin’s proof-of stake. Drop me a line if you’re interested in discussing proof-of-methods.

Best,

Hi, I was trading BTC, LTC and PPC a few years ago on BTC-E and after setting up ppcoind on a home machine, attempted to transfer PPC to it. I ran the node, I thought, with minting unlocked, but became confused by the transaction and balance info being reported. I left it for a while and am now returning to try and resolve the problem. I’ve tried to piece together from my BTC-E transaction history what has gone on but am not much the wiser. Ultimately I’d like to know my wallet balance so I can transact again. I know the basics but I’m lost in the technical detail of addresses, transactions etc. It just doesn’t seem to add up. I’ll dump what I have below but am happy to take it to another forum if thats better.

So I can start the ppccoind on an ubuntu linux box:

I’m reasonably (though not 100%) sure the only interaction I’ve had with this local wallet is via my BTC-E account. Here is a dump of the PPC transactions there:

I’m really confused because it looks like I bought 1434.03579204 PPC on BTC-E. There’s a 1945.10245948 PPC transfer to PPuTeabpw1PC1hfoWrFwBtEZciJNn49yp2 which is evidently an address used by my local wallet.

This txid fc8825e5e09ac779bf4e09dd3b0c5ff64dd279365fff73093f92c7ba98f07389 isn’t reported by ppcoind, but I can see it at bkchain.org associated with an address PNRqFf6ZrnwUgvaqU2RJ1FZ1Gs82PMMk3G. What is that? Is that a PPC address created by BTC-E for me? It seems to show 8 of the transactions reported by my ppcoind, but ppcoind is not listing PNRq…

I don’t think my ppcoind is working properly. There may be a version change of something. The number of confirmations its reporting for those txs is lower than I’m seeing in the blockchain explorer. Pls help!

“balance” : 1961.55245900

I dont remember if the official ppcoin has coincontrol, but I do know Peerunity has. So try install that one.
It shows all non empty addresses and its unspent txo’s you have in the wallet

Hi, what/who is that balance for?
I don’t understand what you mean about coincontrol???

[quote=“meister, post:114, topic:2889”]x@lorax:~/usr/peercoin$ ./ppcoind getinfo

This shows that you have downloaded the full blockchain and that the combined balance of all your addresses in the wallet is 1961.55245900 PPC. Worth $639 at today’s prices :).

Coin Control is a feature from Bitcoin 0.9. that is not included in Sunny’s client, but in Peerunity.
It lists your balances by address and by unspent output, and you can manually select which outputs to use when you send a transaction.
Why don’t you use the Graphic user interface?

That address “PNRqFf6ZrnwUgvaqU2RJ1FZ1Gs82PMMk3G” is most likely a change address in your wallet, that was used when you sent 15.01 PPC to PBgNvgS5a5HusSDocuJJ59tsT4BWZdSDZK. It will be displayed when you use coin control.

Change addresses are a privacy feature, but they cause headaches very often, see here:

The problem was also addressed by Sunny in a recent weekly update.

Before you start experimenting now, make sure not to lose your wallet and password!

Hi you all,

I’m Mr Icebubble and I come in pieces! Anyway, I was researching french fries the other day and came across Peercoin. Nah, just kidding. I’ve been lurking around the crypto communities for a while and decided that I probably like this place and want to hang around.

I’m a web developer, old enough to be paying my own rent and like geometrical objects and stuff.

Just kidding ;), well no, not really but anyway see you on the forums

Greetings, programs!

I’m index, but I can occasionally be found under the name “nullfry” on other sites. I’ve been dabbling with cryptocurrencies for a little over a year now, but still have very little experience and knowledge regarding how they work and best practices for using them.

I somehow stumbled upon Peercoin in a thread in /r/Bitcoin, and have been interested in trying it out. I’m sure I’ll be outing myself as an idiot for the questions I post here, and apologize in advance for doing so, but I hope to learn quite a bit for long-term use.

Hey everyone

I am interessted in cryptocurrencies since 2012. I wrote my examination about free-banking.

I read about the fantastic work from Jodan Lee. Nubits/Nushares with the stable price is the future of the currencies and
the next step in: War of currencies episode VII - the free banking strikes back
