How do I Setup a Private Channel on Freenode?

I might need to setup a private channel on freenode in the next couple days for something, but I have no idea how to do this. I’ve never even used Freenode before. Is there a guide somewhere that explains it in a simple way?

If it matters, it will be for Sunny, me and one other person. I’m not sure if I’ll need to set this up yet, but if I do, I’ll most likely have to do it tomorrow.

Ok, I’ve been using this guide…

https://botbot.me/how-to-setup-irc-channel/

…but I ran into a problem. I registered my name and email address. Then I registered the channel ##sunnykingmedia. I didn’t invite anyone yet because I’m not ready to do that. So I got out of everything and tried to log back in here to make sure it worked…

https://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=##sunnykingmedia

…but I got this error message…

[22:47] -NickServ- This nickname is registered. Please choose a different nickname, or identify via /msg NickServ identify .
[22:47] == gateway/web/freenode/ip.68.46.182.92 is now your hidden host (set by syn.)
[22:47] == ##sunnykingmedia Cannot join channel (+r) - you need to be identified with services

So I entered in this…

/msg NickServ IDENTIFY

…and got this…

[22:49] -NickServ- You are now identified for Sentinelrv.

…then I entered this…

/join ##sunnykingmedia

…and got this error message…

[22:50] == ##sunnykingmedia Cannot join channel (+i) - you must be invited

So does this mean that I locked myself out because I didn’t add my own nick name to the invitation list? I thought that this channel was now tied to my nick name, so I didn’t do that. Anyway, I tried doing this anyway…

/mode ##sunnykingmedia +I $a:

…and got this…

[22:54] == You’re not a channel operator: ##sunnykingmedia

…which doesn’t make sense because I’m the one who created it. Help please! :frowning:

Ok, I made #sunnykingmedia instead and this time I added myself to the invite list. Now I can join the channel.
