Help! How to import wallet.dat to PPC client on a Mac?

Hey guys, I’m packing a bit because I’m not having any success importing my wallet.dat file. I’m on a Mac. I’ve tried just dropping the .dat file into my library folder but when I re-start the client my balance shows zero.

I should be fine because I have multiple copies of my .dat file, but not being able to import it successfully is troubling. I know this is a noob question, but if anyone can spare the time to talk me through it I’d very much appreciate it

Cheers fellow PPCers!

Until the first MAC user drops by; Did you try to access your wallet on a Linux or Windows machine? Maybe set up a Virtual Machine running linux and try accessing your wallet there to see if it has an issue as well.

im not that familiar with mac but…

per https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Data_directory

the correct location to put your wallet.dat is:

~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/

now, you said you put in it in your “Library folder,”

were you referring to just ~/Library/, or did you actually mean the folder I just pointed out?

has the blockchain caught up? (guessing you might have downloaded the client anew, since your importing a wallet)

I sent Gibzeez instructions on how to do this. As soon as I’ve confirmed that the steps worked, I’ll post a tutorial on how to do it, along with one for importing a paper wallet on a Mac (unrelated, but something I have planned to do for a while).

Awesome Ben  be sure to put them on devtome and earn for ur work
