Now that we have projects started, it’s time to get organized. I’ll spend time this weekend mapping out each of these items to help bring everyone up to speed.

Peercoin Major Items

1. Bitcoin Conferences - PRIORITY

update October 26

  • introduction -

The connections you forge at these events are EXACTLY what we need to be doing as a community. If you haven’t already, I recommend you read about my experience representing Feathercoin in NYC this past summer. There’s no substitute to being able to talk to the movers and shakers in person as well as do on the spot interviews:

http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=3130.0

Here’s the 6 major events we want to attend:

  1. International Bitcoin Conference - Amsterdam - Nov 6, 7, 8
  2. Bitcoin Conference - London - Nov 30th
  3. Plug-N-Play Bitcoin Expo - Sunnyvale CA - Dec 5th
  4. laBitConf - Buenos Aires, Argentina - Dec 7, 8
  5. Inside Bitcoins - Las Vegas - Dec 10,11
  6. Global Bitcoin Conference - Bangalore, India - Dec 14, 15

(much more to come)

2. Trekcon

update October 26

I’m waiting for final confirmation, it looks like Peercoin will be the official coin of Trekcon! This is a big deal for a number of reasons:

  • The organizers are veterans of different types of sci fi type conventions
  • Attendance is projected to be 2000+
  • Celebrities already signed onto the event
  • We’ll be able to print literature for vendors that will be at the event
  • Peercoin will be tied into their promos
  • I plan to do a lot of cross promotion as soon as details are finalized
  • I’m shooting for a video to introduce the organizers and their vision next week, followed by an AMA in the future

I’m handling all costs personally.

3. Swarm Team

update October 26

I have to admit, this was one of my favorite items that we implemented. Ever wonder why whenever news came up about Feathercoin, there were 30 of us commenting? Here’s the idea of the swarm team:

    (1) Anyone that wants to participate, simply leaves their username, email, IM (if available) and availability
    (2) The swarm leader makes a google doc with all the participants
    (3) When a major action item occurs (example: We need everyone to contact x exchange to add FTC), I would send out the swarm email.
    (4) All participants would update the google doc once the task was complete

Here’s my original post on it:

"I’m sending out PMs to our most active members concerning the swarm teams. Essentially, when something major comes up, we’ll have a list of people ready to respond to it immediately.

Example: “JoeMerchant is considering adding Feathercoin. We ask our swarm to write them an email talking about the benefits of Feathercoin”

Little action items that we can coordinate fairly quickly on a moments notice. If you receive the PM, please respond back either way. Thank you."

To be apart of our existing swarm team, it only takes a commitment of 15-20 minutes a week. Simply fill out the survey below, and we’ll be happy to get you started:

12. Newsletter

update October 26

We’ll post a small newsletter to Bitcointalk and other similar forums every Wednesday. I’ll start the process until I can handle it off to a PR volunpeer. It doesn’t need to take a lot of time, just a great summary to let the crypto community know what we’re up to each week. I’ll great a thread where the community can offer their input.

13. Articles

As a community, we need to focusing on developing at least 2 articles a week to help with promotion.

Stone Soul Foundation is a fairly well known band in the upstate NY area. These guys play with the bigger signed bands and tour quite a bit. I’m working with their lead singer (childhood friend) on how Peercoin could make sense for their band. I’m typing up a formal proposal tomorrow afternoon.
