How do I get this corrected

Hello i3lome,

Try this, go to your appdata folder where your wallet is stored by typing %appdata% in the run bar in windows. Find the ppcoin folder. Make sure your wallet is closed at this time.

Copy your wallet.dat file out of the folder, then delete everything else inside of the folder. Restart the wallet and see if it is able to synchronize. If it does without issue, close it again, copy your wallet.dat file back in to the folder and restart. You should be able to see your coins again and have a functioning wallet.

Let me know if this works :slight_smile:

I just tried that method, its still wont sync. Should I try it on a different pc, will I be able to transfer my Wallet.dat to the new pc… here is the new log

Does matter that ppcoin.org is down, or should that effect it

ppcoin.org is not down for me, perhaps you’re having some intermittent connection drops. Have you installed new antivirus or turned a firewall on on that machine lately?

Yes, you can move the wallet.dat to a new computer without issue. Give that a shot and see if you can synchronize elswhere.

Also if you are still unable to connect, let me know and I can provide you some good addresses to use as nodes from my own wallet.

That’s odd, I have 4 Pc’s in the house and none will allow me to connect to ppcoin.org.

I have disable all firewall and antivirus. I also pluged my pc to my isp line without a router to check if that was and issue. How would I go about adding nodes.

i3lome,

Have you created a .conf file for your ppcoin wallet before? FuzzyBear has a guide to creating the .conf file posted here: http://ppcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3.0

I am new to PPCoin, and I too am having this issue. I also checked and I can access ppcoin.org (which is where I got the client). For kicks, I tried addnode=54.225.177.29:9901 (ppcoin.org’s IP), but that did not work either. I would love a peer or two the bootstrap from, thanks.

And what’s about other Webpages, like www.google.com? Can you access them?

What did you change that made it work?

Strange, what is the diff of access between ppcoin.org and any other website?

This msg fixed my ppc client. Still not sure why I cant see that webpage

We are experiencing extended downtime with seed nodes again. If you experience initial connection issues with client try add the following nodes to connect to ppcoin network (in ppcoin.conf):

addnode=66.90.146.146
addnode=91.156.102.128
addnode=110.174.124.20
addnode=67.14.164.114

addnode=213.251.187.24
addnodd=188.134.122.31
addnode=72.38.179.122

Interesting, thanks.

I also had this problem. I just downloaded the client tonight and I let it sit for a couple hours and it could not find any connections. After adding these nodes it is working. Going to lose a lot of new users if it cannot connect after install…

0 active connections to ppcoin network

why is that?

ok…solved with addnode … and the conf file

Hi,

I’ve attempted to install PPCoin-QT on Windows, Mac and Ubuntu and it does not connect to the network on an machine. Any suggestions as to what I need to be looking for? I’ve done a lot of tweaking and these are my results:

Mac OS X Lion it starts but it doesn’t connect to network.

On my Mac here is the ppoin.conf: Users>User>Library>Application Support/PPCoin

bitcoin.conf configuration file. Lines beginning with # are comments.

server=1 tells Bitcoin to accept JSON-RPC commands.

server=1

You must set rpcuser and rpcpassword to secure the JSON-RPC api

rpcuser=rpcuser
rpcpassword=areallycomplicatedpassword

Listen for RPC connections on this TCP port:

rpcport=9000

You can use Bitcoin or bitcoind to send commands to Bitcoin/bitcoind

running on another host using this option:

rpcconnect=127.0.0.1

Set gen=1 to attempt to generate bitcoins

gen=1

Here are the problems when I run Ubuntu 12.04 64bit (it is a virtual machine)

When I run ./primecoind in primecoin/src/ I get the following message:

Error: To use primecoind, you must set a rpcpassword in the configuration file:
/home/mark/.primecoin/primecoin.conf
It is recommended you use the following random password:
rpcuser=primecoinrpc
rpcpassword=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
(you do not need to remember this password)
The username and password MUST NOT be the same.
If the file does not exist, create it with owner-readable-only file permissions.
It is also recommended to set alertnotify so you are notified of problems;
for example: alertnotify=echo %s | mail -s “Primecoin Alert” admin@foo.com

I have already created primecoin.conf with read/write privledges: primecoin>

bitcoin.conf configuration file. Lines beginning with # are comments.

In Windows I simply ran the .exe install. (Tried as stand alone and virtual machine with same results) The client will run but it does not connect.

In help would be greatly appreciated. I have no real preference as to what OS the wallet would run on as long as it is secure (RPC user and password unique, etc) Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is a really stupid follow up but the wallet I want is for PPC and the following URL is where I downloaded the above wallets:
