Is there any way ppc could store offline like bitcoin? Anyone know? Thanks
Create a Paper Wallet to send your coins to. Every time you want to extract coins from it, create a new one.
That’s the coldest a storage can be
Also what I do is create a Virtual Machine install and sync a wallet, encrypt and close the VM. You can send coins there and there’s no way someone can access it. When you need it just start your VM and let it sync again.
Thanks guys.
Peercoin cold wallets are created in the same way as bitcoin wallets.
This is a great video tutorial on creating cold bitcoins wallets:

Follow the steps outlined in the video except to generate the Peercoin wallets go to http://wallet.peercointalk.org/ instead of https://www.bitaddress.org/

How can I spend my ppc if they are stored in paper wallet? How to import the private key to QT wallet?

Hi Percy520, Yes, congratulations because having a second computer that will never go online is the best of all possible options!
Save the web browser page (code) from any one of three PPC key/address generating programs: http://wallet.peercointalk.org, http://brainwallet.org, or http://tizop.com/peercoin.htm to a usb thumbdrive from your online computer. Using the usb thumbdrive put this saved program into your always offline computer. Create your private key/public address pairs. You might want to print them out using a printer that is also only offline. Store the paper prints securely. Take your Public Address(s) back online to receive and hold funds. Never take your all-important private key online until you are ready to spend the funds. Discard and do not reuse a once used key/address pair.
If you want to be super super sure of the validity of your key/address pair, you can compare the public address generated from a single private key across these different programs by pasting the private key generated by one program into either of the other two programs: the resultant generated public address should match in each different program for the same private key. I have done this repeatedly with these three programs and all results have always been identical. So, I personally trust each of these three programs to generate sufficiently reliable pairs for me to store my own investments. (note: brainwallet.org generates pairs for 22 different cryptos so if you use it be sure it is set on PPC)
Have fun!
Thanks, I have done that and it is super easy.!! work all very well!!

Hi Percy520, This next version of Peercoin 0.4 that everyone is so excited about starting on testnet this next week and becoming a mandatory upgrade in a month or six weeks or so, I believe will have under the help menu a debug window with a console tab where there will be an RPC window at the bottom in which you can input commands. This will make it super easy to import your Private Key when you want to spend funds. I think the command will be: importprivkey “then you type your key in here” and press ENTER then, after a few minutes your funds will appear in your Qt wallet.
Hi Newmoneyera, Thanks for your help. Can not wait to see peer coin 0.4 release.
