Checkpoint is too old

For the past couple of months, my client (0.2.1) has not been updating, and I have been getting this message:

“Checkpoint is too old. Wait for the block chain to download or notify the developers of the issue”

This morning, I deleted all files (apart from the all important wallet.dat) and tried to download the blockchain from scratch

However, it still remains stuck at 234612 blocks, out of 250284 (93.74%)

Any suggestions on how I can get it updated? Thanks

You did the process correctly in terms of deleting everything except for wallet.dat and the ppcoin.conf (if there is no ppcoin.conf it’s ok). You just need to update the client since there has been an update since 0.2.1.
Download the 0.2.2 client, delete the files as you did earlier, and you should be good to go.

Peerunity v0.2.2 can be founds here: https://peercoin.net/download-peerunity

Thank you, I have done as you have advised, and am pleased to report that my client is now up-to-date. I now plan to get back to minting

Glad to hear it!
