This bounty has been canceled. Find out more here:
I read in the chat box that Ben talked briefly to Chris Odom about Peercoin/Open Transactions integration. We’ll need to port BTCD to work with Peercoin, but once that is done, it’s a fairly minor effort to enable the API methods that OT uses.
Someone with knowledge of the programming language “Go” could help with this.
Ben have pledged 300 PPC to this project and Pillow have matched with 300 PPC, together 600 PPC.
We should probably put this one up on the peer4commit, so I’m looking for someone to head the project (not the coding thing, just making sure that the bounty is properly paid out and the source code works).
Posted on reddit, nice intro to OT with Chris himself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhqEK3o9Lmc&feature=share
I like this, it fits very well with Peercoin in keeping the blockchain small, while still making it usable for every day use.
I’m happy to setup a peer4commit project for this one. But I need a bit of a description what we are trying to achieve.
Is it just making an implementation which works on the Peercoin network. Does it include setting up servers etc.?
Should we have a separate peer4commit.com project for porting BTCD? Guess that makes it more clear what the total bounty is for each project?
I won’t be able to search for a “Go” programmer though (for btcd).
What we are looking for is something down the line of trading “voting-pool secured BTC” vs “voting-pool secured PPC” (http://opentransactions.org/wiki/index.php?title=Voting_Pools) and justusranvier wrote the whitepaper. The protocol the wallet has to speak will probably be defined by teknico and altoz.
It’s still to early to begin the Peercoin port. Things on the OT side is not stable enough and the code will probably be moving a bit to much.
I’ve now established contact with a friendly chap there and he will talk to wallet devs and contact me when progress has been made on their end.

Ok. Hmm, is there a good way to preserve the information in this thread and also cancel the bounty? Perhaps a mod could move the thread and change the title or something?
