Just advertising what is up for grabs for the developers on peer4commit.com/projects.
I thought it would be good to have a link in the Bounty’s forum to this, as it may appear no bounties are given away over here. Each commit is good for 1% of the total amount shown!
Please check out the Peer4commit FAQ thread here: http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=2475.0
I’ve posted what’s in there now, but best to click the link on top for the latest projects and status

With the latest updates on Peer4commit, a commit is no longer necessarily 1%. It can be adjusted by the project maintainer.
Please check the charter on peer4commit for the project or ask the project maintainer.
Updated as of 30 March 2013, only projects with donations over 500 PPC are mentioned here.
Many thanks again for the huge donations!

Have been working on updating the QT client - I’ve nearly finished coding up minting on/off buttons/associated wallet lock procedures as well as an import private key graphical dialogue.
What’s the best way to claim some of these project funds? Is is better to list this effort as a new project?

Ur working on the Ppcoin code base. Each repo has its own specific donations given to it and repo needs to be added to peer4commit and then donations made by people.
Have a look at the codebase for projects on peer4commit and see if anything takes your fancy.
Ok some serious funding has been donated to the development for projects this weekend. Many thanks to all the donors, the development team will not let you down

Wow, that’s exactly what we want. You certainly some credits.

This is exactly what everyone has been waiting for. A major contribution to Peercoin!
Today peer4commit has been topped up again. We have some very generous donators. Thank you very much.
I’m now starting to see the results of the peer4commit website (www.peer4commit.com), which is fantastic.
Look at the developments on the peercoin.net website, multi languages and soon news and blogs. This will be a place to revisit!
(and it did receive a big top-up today to continue development)
And a whole of other good developments, too much to follow them all. Happy to add links to threads in my OP where people can post latest status or more detailed project descriptions for each project.
Total for grabs across all major projects as of today: Over 22,000 PPC !!!
Wow the bounties are really big now. Wish I would be able to code :-D
For MUTO, and anyone else who feels the same way, I have a proposal for you.
There’s a lot of work that could be done with only a minimal understanding of code. For instance, it would be really useful if you notice issues with the wallet client (labels, icons, poorly worded text, visual defects, etc.) to add information to the open issues on Github.
If the defect is something that I’m technically able to address, and then my pull request is accepted, I’ll gladly split any payouts with the person who took the time to report the defect. You’ll need a Github account to add comments on the repository, but one of their free tier accounts should work fine.
This is something that I’m doing, of my own volition, but I would imagine that there are others who are comfortable making changes that would be open to a similar arrangement. (If are or would you’d like to be one of those people, please let the community know in this thread.)
I’m having issues reaching Github right now, but when I get a chance, I’ll create a couple of bucket issues that we can use to collect/separate reported defects. That way, we can tie those commits back to issues and make sure that everyone gets taken care of if there’s a reward for the commit.

Looking forward to the upcoming progress. But I wonder wether this list has been broadcasted at Bitcointalk.org?

Happy to post on bitcointalk.org if no-one else haven’t done yet. I saw that r/peercoin is already covered yesterday (and Facebook?). Any other suggestions where to post to get more developers on board?
Just to let you know we passed the 35,000 PPC mark on the donations for the combined projects on http://peer4commit.com. That is close to US$100,000 !!
See also updated OP.
This week I will put the peer4commit project itself in the spotlight: http://peer4commit.com/projects/1
Interested to see what the latest buzz is on this project? Follow the developer’s discussion here: https://github.com/sigmike/peer4commit/issues
and don’t be afraid to contribute to the discussion or add your ideas as a new issue. Lot’s of good improvements underway.
And something for further discussion:
I’m not really clear about how the donations against the official repository Peercoin/peercoin need to be handled. Would like to hear the views of the developers and others on this.
I think we need a better/clearer charter on the official repo and have another community repo with a more flexible charter e.g. towards the GUI and developments which don’t affect the network. Besides that we can have the real experimental forks as Kac- did here: http://peer4commit.com/projects/28 (merging bitcoin 0.9 with Peercoin v0.4 client).
We probably should wait until the v0.4 to be officially released before forking the official repo.
Sigmike, Kactech, Fuzzybear, Kac-, others? Any ideas or thoughts?
@Cybnate I fully support the idea of having second dev repo for Peercoin, one repo where we can find:
[ul][li]branch for non-invasive, safe changes/futures/fixes[/li]
[li]branch for merging things from other coins[/li]
[li]branch for merging current bitcoin HEAD[/li][/ul]
My thoughts on the official ppcoin repo and a community repo…
I think there will be a number of community members who will only want to use the “official” repo (the one controlled by sunny king and with the current bounty from peer4commits). That said there are a number of users who have used my builds with some namechanes etc that are not in the official repo etc and there is a desire for extra community driven development especially on the Qt side of which Sunny has specified he is less interested in coding this himself.
The issue for me lies in the responsibility of maintaining the repo and ensuring commits to the “community repo” are well checked over etc. I have to check commits daily on the repos under my name and this does become time consuming and stops me spending as much time developing the code myself.
I do think it is necessary to wait till 0.4 release is completed but discussing best way forward is good to do now
I have created the group on github https://github.com/PeercoinPPC where we could have the official community repo in there… this may allow us to collectively review the commits made by people.
I have a number of commits that I was going to commit to the main repo once 0.4 is complete, but needs to be done in a well organised and simple manner, we should encourage and set examples for good practice etc, I’m mentioning these things as these are some of my concerns as bounties are high, I have had spam git commits to try drain the peer4commits etc and time pressure usually result in mistakes if guidelines are not clear to follow.
There are now these impressively large amounts of PPC for specific wallet projects such as Mycelium (6,200+) and Armory (4,300+). I would think the original devs of these programs could do the fastest and best fork to Peercoin if they wanted to. Would it be a good idea to contact them?
Maybe they would want to. Maybe they would not.
It would be super if they liked the idea I would think.
What would be the worst case if they didn’t? Could they remove their open source code? or? I don’t know. Like I said, I’m a newbie.
Would contacting the original devs on these two programs be a good idea?
