Why not stay unlocked to mint all the time?
Some people do it like that, some people come online only when they have the best odds.
As of 0.9 it is more rewarding to continuously mint.

Aside from OS upgrades and wallet upgrades, I’ve been continuously minting for over five years and have no plans to stop. I have noticed a nice bump in stake reward with 0.9, thank you very much! 
you can use this application connected to an empty wallet. While your minting machine is running somewhere else…
